Got an Okemos garage you can't park in anymore? Or a spare room that's quietly become the place where old stuff goes to hide? We can help with that. Lansing Junk Removal can clear out furniture, broken appliances and years of odds and ends.
Here's how it goes. You show us what needs to leave. We give you a real number. If you like it, we carry everything out ourselves, and you don't lift a finger.
Okemos sits just southeast of East Lansing, mostly inside Meridian Charter Township, with a few edges that spill into Alaiedon and Williamstown townships. For our trucks coming out of Lansing, that's practically next door.
A bit of local history we like: a pioneer named Freeman Bray first laid out the village under the name Hamilton. Folks living there kept calling it Okemos anyway, after Chief John Okemos of the Ojibwe, and the state legislature eventually made that name official.
The Red Cedar River winds east to west right through town. Wherever you are in town, we come to you.
Our minimum charge is $175. That covers a pile roughly the size of one couch. Bigger jobs are priced by how much space your items fill in the truck, so you only pay for what we actually haul.
We come out and look at it for free. You'll hear the exact price before anything gets loaded, and there's no obligation. If you do, the crew can usually take it all that same visit. You can read more on our pricing page.
Heads up on heavier materials. Construction debris, rocks, bricks, tile, tires and shingles add to the cost, so tell us about them when you ask for a price and there won't be surprises.
Choose whatever is easiest for you.
Common pickups include:
We don't handle biohazards like dead animals, feces or bed bug infested items. We also can't take used oil, open containers of liquid, 55-gallon drums of liquid, or cars.
A few bags of leaves or some branches mixed in are fine. But if your project is mostly yard waste, a lawn or landscape company is usually the cheaper call, and we'll tell you so.
We also handle whole-space cleanouts. Think of a basement after the kids moved out, a garage before a sale, or a rental between tenants. Our junk hauling crew does the heavy lifting and handles the stairs.
If you're sorting through a parent's home, we get that it can be hard. Our estate cleanouts go at whatever pace works for your family, and we leave alone anything you want to keep.
Just one bulky item? Our furniture removal makes that quick. Closer to campus? Check out our junk removal in East Lansing page.
Lansing Junk Removal is owned by Scott and Alicia Toupin, and we've been hauling junk around the Lansing area since 2008. Our crew members are background checked, and the company is licensed, bonded and insured.

It starts at our $175 minimum, which is about one couch worth of stuff. Larger loads are priced by the room they take up in the truck. The estimate at your home is free, and you get the exact price before we load anything.
Usually, yes. If you approve the price while we're there, the crew can typically load it on the spot.
Sure. Text pictures to 517-643-0940 and we'll send an estimate. You can also call; for three items or fewer the office can often give a fixed quote by phone. The firm price is set on site, and you're never obligated.
