Need junk removal in East Lansing? Lansing Junk Removal is right next door. We've been hauling couches, mattresses, appliances and whole-house cleanouts around the Lansing area since 2008, and East Lansing is part of our home turf.
Here's how it works: you show us what needs to go, we give you an exact price, and if you say yes, we usually load it up right then. No surprise fees after the truck is full.
East Lansing is a city of very different kinds of homes. You've got the older houses in neighborhoods like Glencairn, Oakwood and Bailey, family streets out in Whitehills, Pinecrest and Chesterfield Hills, and plenty of rentals and apartments near Michigan State University. Each one comes with its own kind of clutter.
In a neighborhood like Bailey, right next to campus and downtown, you'll find families, retirees, students and faculty living on the same block. That means we might haul a worn-out futon from a rental in the morning and help a family clear out a basement they've been meaning to tackle for years in the afternoon.
Whether it's one old recliner on the curb or a full garage, the process is the same. We come out, look at it with you, and tell you the price before anything goes on the truck.
Our minimum charge is $175, which covers a pile about the size of a couch. Bigger jobs are priced by how much space your items take up in the truck, so you only pay for what we actually haul.
The most accurate way to get a price is a free on-site estimate. We walk through what needs to go, give you an exact quote, and you decide. There's no obligation, and if you approve it we can usually load it on the spot. You can read more on our pricing page.
A few things cost extra because of how they have to be disposed of: construction debris, rocks, bricks, tile, tires and shingles. If you have any of those, just mention them when you ask for a price so there are no surprises.
Pick whichever is easiest for you.
Common pickups include:
To keep our crew safe, we don't take biohazards like dead animals, feces or anything with bed bugs. We also can't take used oil, open containers of liquid, 55-gallon drums of liquid, or cars.
Small amounts of yard waste are fine to toss in with the rest of your load. If you have a lot of it, a lawn or landscape company is usually the cheaper way to go, and we'll tell you that honestly.
Basement and garage cleanouts are a big part of what we do. Older East Lansing homes tend to collect decades of stuff in the basement, and we do the lifting and the stairs so you don't have to.
When a family is clearing out a loved one's home, we handle estate cleanouts with patience and care, working around what the family wants to keep.
If you manage a rental near campus, we can clear out what tenants leave behind, from mattresses to full rooms of furniture. If you just need one big item gone, our furniture removal service is a quick way to get your space back.
Lansing Junk Removal is locally owned by Scott and Alicia Toupin. Our crew is background checked, and we're licensed, bonded and insured, so you can feel good about who's walking into your house.
